My reasons for becoming a financial professional are deeply personal. I began in a Money and Banking course at Berry College.  The professor encouraged us to participate in a National Investment Challenge, we were given five hundred thousand fake dollars to invest over a three month time period.  This was way before the internet so we had to look up prices in a newspaper.  I finished in the top 9% in the country and the top position in my school, including the professors.  My professor asked how I had chosen my stocks, I explained my goal of making the most possible in 3 months, analyzed my risk which was essentially nothing because it was fake money, then selected high risk high reward stocks.  I got lucky with a few of them and won the competition.  My professor had invested in blue chip stocks that he would actually invest in for his own retirement.  He may have done a good job at stock selection but did a horrible job at meeting the goal of the contest  I learned more about setting goals, analyzing risk, developing and executing a plan than I did about individual stock selection, which began my thoughts on Financial Planning. I am confident that with my understanding of personal finance, I can help people better prepare for the future. After years in the business, I have developed a reputation for educating individuals in an easy-to-understand manner so they can grasp personal finance and use those concepts to pursue their financial objectives. I feel a commitment to help educate our community.

I take a proactive approach to helping you develop a strategy to address your financial goals and objectives, using the most efficient methods available.  It brings me tremendous joy to see a kid that went to sleep in my briefcase 25 years ago, graduate from college that I helped plan for and get his first job.  I also enjoy watching people save for their retirement and achieve it.  I love it when I get a postcard, email, or Facebook message from one of their trips.  Watching people achieve goals and live their best life knowing that I helped will many times bring a tear to my eye and remind me of why I am a Financial Planner.
